Kvadrat Maharam x LOCAL DESIGN for DEN Fair 2017 initiated 3 design studio's to produce custom pieces utilising fabrics by danish textile company Kvadrat Maharam. Working with Canberra based upholsterer Stellen, we designed a series of cats, each upholstered in different fabrics and each having their own distinctive tails. Constructed from steel, the tails are usable as back-rests for gentle resting and provide a small gesture to an otherwise fairly neutral shaped frame.
